Founded in 2025, Amy has been living Capelandia since 2010—built day by day alongside family, friends, and a beloved crew of salty, sandy, endlessly happy pets. What began as a deeply personal way of life—shaped by salt air, open skies, and the belief that the best moments happen outside—has grown into something far greater: a movement for anyone who has ever stood at the edge of the ocean and felt the world get a little bigger.

Amy is a patented marine robotics engineer, ocean explorer, and co-inventor of the REMUS SharkCam—the autonomous robot that changed how humanity studies sharks in the wild. Her career has carried her to the most extraordinary edges of the Earth: across the pack ice of Antarctica, through the drifting Arctic, and to the calving glacier fronts of Greenland, with expeditions spanning all seven continents. Her work has been celebrated on Discovery Channel's Shark Week and National Geographic's SharkFest, because the ocean kept offering up something magnificent.

A licensed captain, tennis pro, and Explorers Club Fellow, Amy moves through the world with scientific rigor and unbridled wonder—equally at home steering a vessel through open seas or chasing down a perfect backhand in the golden afternoon light.
